“My mother was a mentor to young people and artists, as well as a teacher with an amazing breadth of knowledge of art, literature, history and art history,” says her daughter-in-law and LeQuire Gallery owner Andree LeQuire. “She was a stickler for good writing. She understood storytelling in a way that kept her audiences interested."
NaFF Artistic Director Owens adds, “Louise had an uncanny ability to draw productive energy and creativity out of people in their own work by encouraging them. She also parlayed that energy and creativity into film and working on a team. Along with her son Alan, who designed and created this award, we honor her spirit by creating this screenwriting award.”
