Join us as we roll out the Red Carpet in celebration of the 2008 Nashville Film Festival.  William H. Macy leads the list of celebrity guests. 

 

OPENING FILM AND PARTY

Film:  THE DEAL, 7:00pm, Regal GH Theaters 15 and 16. 

A real fun, funny story about a Hollywood producer who sees a way to revive his so-called career by casting an action star in a film about 19th-century British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli and in the process outwits his financiers and the studio. Stars William H. Macy, Meg Ryan, LL Cool J (as an action star who has converted to Judaism), Jason Ritter (Nashville roots!) and Elliott Gould (in a supporting role as credit-hungry rabbi).

CLOSING NIGHT FILM, The Wrecking Crew, AND PARTY

Film:  THE WRECKING CREW – You heard them playing on the Beach Boys hits, on the Mamas and the Papas' recordings, on Frank Sinatra records, on Monkees' singles, they WERE Phil Spector's Wall of Sound. In fact, you heard them everywhere. This film looks (with great period footage) at the famed group of session musicians who backed nearly all the hits made in L.A. in the sixties. Featuring interviews with the Crew (including Glen Campbell, who was one of them before going “out in front”), as well as Nancy Sinatra, Herb Alpert, Brian Wilson, Mickey Dolenz and others…plus all that great music!
