NASHVILLE FILM CIRCLE EVENTS

Selected Best of Fest 05 & 06 Short Films at Watkins- NFC Members $3 [January 12, 2007]
Friday, January 12, 7pm, “Best of NaFF Shorts 2005 & 2006.”

Watkins College of Art&Design and the Watkins Film School and the Nashville Film Festival will be hosting a film screening of award winning and audience favorite short films screened during the 2005 and 2006 Nashville Film Festivals.

Film selections will include short narratives, animations and short documentaries such as:

DOLL NO. 639 (Andras György Desi, Hungary, 16 min.) A futuristic story where all modern conveniences become just a little too convenient. (2006 Winner- Best Short Narrative)

LA VIE D’UN CHIEN (John Harden, US, 14 min.) Paris, 1962. A scientist formulates a serum which transforms him into a dog. It's only when he changes back to a human that his troubles begin. (2006 Honorable Mention for Best Short Narrrative)

FOURTEEN (Nicole Barnette, USA, 7 min.) Fourteen year old, Hannah, awakes to a momentous day of gifts and attention. She soon realizes that this day of great celebration will have significant consequences on her future. (2006 Sundance Selection)

IN THE MORNING (Danielle Lurie, USA, 10 min.) When a young Turkish woman is brutally attacked, the responsibility of restoring her family's lost honor is left in the hands of her younger brother. Based on the true events of an actual 'honor killing.' (2005 Winner- Best Short Narrative)

FALLEN ART (Tomek Baginski, Poland, 6 min.) On a forgotten military base in the Pacific, soldiers have lost their minds due to the hardships of war and have gathered to complete a final mission.

THE TREE OFFICER (Neil Jack & Gary Dremmell, Scotland, 8 min.) A stop-motion animated comedy shot in documentary style set in the title character's department of a town council. (2005 Winner – Best Animation)

$5 for general public
